Transitions are difficult for everyone, regardless of personal flexibility. It is our nature to prefer consistency. When we transition to a new phase of life, whether that be from K-12 to college, K-12 to workforce or from college to workforce, it is uncomfortable. Some struggle with transitions more than others, especially those who live with anxiety and/or depression. Balanced living can be difficult during life transitions as the division of effort between personal and career/education can become uneven. By teaching self-compassion, life-domain management, self-awareness, action-oriented planning and self-care, Eightfold Counseling encourages an active yet gentle approach to life transitions promoting mindfulness, assertiveness and emotional/behavioral problem-solving.
